You Are Welcome (In God's Arms)

Those of us who come from religious backgrounds and identify as LGBTQ+ can find it difficult to navigate the waters of faith and authenticity, especially during seasons such as the one we are in now. The expectation of attending family gatherings that include services can be daunting for some, especially for those who have experienced trauma at the hands of religion and faith leaders. I wrote this song as I was thinking about my own journey as a queer person who was raised in an ultra-religious family and a fundamentalist church and those who have had similar experiences. I hope that this song will be a comfort to those who still deal with the hurt and exclusion they have felt.
